This project is an example of interactive architecture created for the "Blickfang International Design Fair" in the Liederhalle Stuttgart, led by Professor Werner Sobek.Inspired by images of clouds and rain, a lounge installation made of lightweight materials was developed for this exhibition. The system, consisting of 30 elements, is called "Kumo" (a Japanese word meaning both "spider" and "cloud"). This system enables the creation of dynamic movement patterns, resulting in a continuous transformation of the installation's volume and height. At the core of this project lies the integration of new technologies into the architectural concept, enabling the creation of new spaces as well as interactive and dynamic forms. The lounge acts as an interface between the user and the space – a quiet place where visitors can interact with their surroundings and the hanging sculpture. The project was entirely handcrafted by a group of 13 students at the ILEK Lab in Stuttgart, who designed, planned, and built it.
