This project is a Mallorcan country house designed for a family and their guests, located south of the Tramuntana mountain range.The design respects the local, traditional architecture, but a deliberate reduction was applied in the detailing of construction solutions and material selection to create a contemporary aesthetic. Natural stone, high-quality ceramic tiles, and custom-made oak wood elements form the foundation of this architecture. Aluminum windows and Corten steel in the exterior spaces complete the material palette of the project.The two-story building, with a basement, porch, and gable roof, is enclosed by a wall that almost completely surrounds the house, providing shade and wind-protected private spaces. The large courtyard, inspired by cloisters, is located at a lower level than the main floor of the house, enhancing the comfort of this outdoor space, which features a Mediterranean garden.The project was realized through a successful international collaboration with Döring Dahmen Joeressen Architekten in Düsseldorf and Rainer Steiner in Mallorca.
